Jrue Holiday Hasn't Requested Trade From Pelicans
While the New Orleans Pelicans have received trade calls on Jrue Holiday, sources tell William Guillory of The Athletic that he has yet to request a trade from the franchise.
Holiday was traded by the Philadelphia 76ers to the Pelicans in 2013 and then signed a five-year, $131.8 million extension in 2017. The Pelicans are trying to build around their young duo of Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram, which put them on a slower timetable than Holiday\'s prime may allow.
\"He’s still open to the idea of making it work with this young roster,\" writes Guillory. \"He also recognizes how special the Williamson-Ingram combination could be one day, and being part of their ascension is something that’s intrigued several veterans around the league.\"
