Frank Vogel Says Rajon Rondo Is 'Definitely Going To Help Us' Following Return

Rajon Rondo had 8 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds in game 1 of the Los Angeles Lakers\' 112-97 loss to the Houston Rockets.

It was Rondo\'s first game back since fracturing his thumb in early July, making it the first NBA game he\'s played since the league suspended the season in March.

\"Rajon is one of the smartest players in the league, and obviously our guys\' IQ raises when he\'s on the court, so he\'s definitely going to help us this series,\" said Frank Vogel after game 1.

The Lakers were outscored by 10 points in Rondo\'s 25 minutes on the floor.

Anthony Davis said that Rondo\'s presence lets the team give LeBron James a break from his playmaking duties.

\"Good for us because it kind of gives Bron a break. He\'s trying to make plays for others, be in attack mode. So it gives Bron, it gives him a break with Rondo on the floor, let Bron kind of be that guy who can catch it and work on attacking. And Rondo\'s able to get into the paint and make plays in response, so it\'s beneficial to us to have him on the floor.\"
